Every well has unique water chemistry. Quoting without a lab test would be guessing. We need to know iron, manganese, hardness, sodium, nitrate, arsenic, lead, sulphur, TDS, pH, and alkalinity to spec the right multi-stage system. Strong sulphur smell often indicates anaerobic bacterial activity in the well — shock chlorination may be needed alongside permanent treatment. Lab test confirms concentration; treatment sized to it.

Yes if you have any history of coliform-positive PHO tests, surface water influence (shallow dug well, damaged casing/cap), or simply want belt-and-suspenders biological safety. Viqua (made in Guelph) and Trojan are the two GTA standards. UV is permanent post-treatment — kills E. coli, total coliforms, viruses, Giardia, Cryptosporidium when sized correctly to peak flow. Bulb replacement annually (9,000-hour rule). UV does NOT remove chemicals — pair with sediment, iron filter, softener, and RO as needed.
