This Caledon project transformed an outdated suburban-style kitchen into a functional, inviting country farmhouse space, featuring custom maple cabinetry and a large central island.
Challenge
Updating an older rural farmhouse kitchen presented challenges with integrating modern amenities while preserving the home's rustic charm. The existing electrical and plumbing infrastructure required significant upgrades to support a new propane range and larger island, all while navigating Caledon's specific rural building codes.
Solution
We designed and installed custom, locally sourced solid maple cabinetry with a distressed finish, complemented by durable quartz countertops. A new high-capacity 'BlueStar RNB Series' propane range was integrated, requiring a dedicated exterior ventilation system meeting O. Reg 332/12 building code requirements for kitchen exhaust.
Result
The renovated kitchen significantly enhanced the home's functionality and aesthetic appeal, increasing its estimated market value by over $60,000. Homeowners now enjoy a spacious, well-appointed cooking and entertaining area that perfectly complements their country lifestyle, completed within the original 4-week timeline.
โThe team did a good job on our kitchen. The custom maple cabinets look fantastic, and the new layout with the large island is much more practical for our family. There were a couple of minor delays with materials, but they kept us informed throughout the process and worked hard to catch up.โ
