Challenge

Integrating a heavy, freestanding Kohler soaker tub required significant subfloor reinforcement and precise plumbing relocation for proper drainage without exposed lines. Sourcing and milling local timber for the custom vanity also presented a logistical challenge for seamless installation.

Solution

We reinforced the subfloor with engineered wood to support the Kohler K-1946-0 freestanding tub, ensuring compliance with OBC structural load requirements. A custom-fabricated vanity from locally sourced oak timber was installed, complemented by a natural slate tile floor laid over a DITRA uncoupling membrane for stability.
