Sump Pump & Backup Battery Installation in Ajax

Installation of a primary sump pump with battery backup system and weeping tile connection in a flood-prone basement near a high water table.

Challenge

The Ajax home experienced recurring spring flooding due to a high water table and failing 20-year-old sump pump with no backup power system.

Solution

Excavated and installed a new larger sump pit, fitted a 1/2 HP primary pump with float switch, added a battery backup sump pump for power outages, and connected to the existing interior weeping tile system. Installed a high-water alarm sensor.

Result

The basement stayed completely dry through the spring thaw for the first time in years. The battery backup provided peace of mind during two power outages that same season.
