Completed the full electrical rough-in for a 1500 sqft basement finishing project in Mississauga, including lighting, receptacles, and a new subpanel, ensuring code compliance.
Challenge
Integrating the new 60A subpanel with the existing main service panel required careful load calculation to prevent overload issues. We also faced the common challenge of ensuring all wiring was precisely routed within the new framing, avoiding future conflicts with drywall and plumbing.
Solution
Our licensed electricians installed a new Square D Homeline 60A subpanel and ran all new 14/2 and 12/2 NMD90 wiring throughout the 1500 sqft space. We utilized energy-efficient LED pot lights and GFCI-protected receptacles in the bathroom, ensuring strict adherence to the latest Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) standards.
Result
The project was completed on schedule within 3 days, providing a fully inspected and approved electrical foundation for the basement. This setup significantly enhances the property's value and functionality, offering reliable power for future living spaces, increasing the home's usable footprint by 1500 sqft.
โThe electrical rough-in was mostly smooth, though there was a slight delay on the second day waiting for a specific subpanel part. However, the electricians handled the installation of the 60A Square D subpanel efficiently once it arrived, and the inspector passed everything without issues.โ
