Seamless HRV/ERV installation in a Toronto condo bedroom and bathroom, enhancing indoor air quality and ventilation. This project focused on integrating a compact unit with minimal aesthetic impact.
Challenge
Integrating a ventilation system within a dense urban condo presented challenges due to limited space and strict noise regulations. Running new ductwork discreetly within existing wall cavities and ensuring sound attenuation to meet Toronto Building Code standards for multi-unit dwellings required meticulous planning and execution.
Solution
We installed a high-efficiency Venmar AVS S10 ERV unit, chosen for its compact size and ultra-quiet operation, ideal for condo environments. Custom-fabricated sound-attenuated ducting was critical, along with precise routing to minimize impact on existing structures and visual aesthetics. All work complied with relevant sections of the Ontario Building Code.
Result
The client now benefits from significantly improved and consistently fresh indoor air quality, crucial for a healthier living space. The ERV system operates at less than 25 dBA, ensuring no audible disturbance to the residents or neighbours. This upgrade adds long-term comfort and property value, completed efficiently within the two-day timeframe.
โThe RenoHouse team was efficient and completed the ERV installation exactly within the two-day timeline they quoted. While the initial dust from the drywall cutting was more than I expected, they did a very thorough clean-up afterwards. The Venmar unit is incredibly quiet, which was my primary concern and it definitely meets expectations.โ
