Replaced 14 single-pane aluminum windows with triple-pane vinyl windows throughout a 1970s Markham home for improved energy efficiency and noise reduction.
Challenge
The original single-pane aluminum windows had visible condensation, ice buildup in winter, and let in significant street noise from a busy road. Heating bills were exceeding $400/month in winter.
Solution
Removed all 14 windows, inspected and repaired any rotted framing, installed triple-pane low-E argon-filled vinyl windows with a foam-insulated frame. Applied spray foam insulation around each opening and finished with interior trim. All work done from inside to avoid disturbing exterior brick.
Result
Heating costs dropped by 35% the first winter. Street noise was dramatically reduced, and the persistent condensation and ice on windows was completely eliminated.
โOur heating bill went from $420 to $270 in January. The house is quieter, warmer, and the new windows look fantastic. Wish we had done it sooner.โ
