Basement LVP with Moisture Barrier

Installation of LVP flooring with a specialized moisture barrier in an 1100 sqft basement in Brampton, enhancing comfort and moisture control.

Challenge

Basement environments often pose moisture challenges, requiring a robust subfloor solution. The primary difficulty was integrating an effective moisture barrier system while preserving existing baseboard heating throughout the large area.

Solution

We implemented a 6mm dimpled polypropylene membrane (Delta-FL) directly over the concrete slab to create an air gap and manage moisture. On top, high-quality click-lock LVP flooring from Torlys Everest XP was installed, with precise cuts to accommodate all baseboard heating units.

Result

The project was completed on schedule within 3 days, delivering a significantly drier, warmer, and more inviting basement space. This upgrade added an estimated 12% increase in the functional and perceived value of the living area.

โ€œRenoHouse completed our basement flooring. The crew worked efficiently, and the new LVP looks fantastic; the moisture barrier has made a noticeable difference. I was a bit concerned about the schedule around the baseboard heaters, but they managed to keep things on track.โ€
