The main challenge was integrating an 8-foot sliding door into an existing rough opening while ensuring structural integrity and a perfect weather seal. Precise measurements were critical, as the larger Pella unit required careful handling to prevent damage to the surrounding finished walls.

Solution

We installed an 8-foot Pella Architect Series sliding patio door, featuring durable aluminum-clad wood and advanced low-E insulating glass for superior energy performance. The dog door insert was custom-fitted within one of the sliding panels, maintaining the door's thermal envelope and aesthetics. All exterior flashing adhered to Ontario Building Code section 9.27.3.5 for weather protection.
